My apologies for not mentioning the name..Its Adil Salahi's saying..It made me think that this is so true..and when I read it, there was naat playing on TV..It made me think even more..and I had to post it here..

I dont see singing Naat as something wrong but more as inappropriate cuz half the ppl are there for food and I have seen it myself.

I think we are suppose to follow the teachings of the propehet but we never heard that his companions or his followers at that time singing praises..This is not something he did nor did he suggested this.

I am just not the kind of a person who gets into these kinda things. I discourage ppl from participating in these kindof events..some listen some dont..May Allah guide us all

That is very true. For the same reason I keep away from people singings naats, etc. One should read the Ahadiths instead because you would be learning from a plethora of positive social and moral attributes. This is exactly what the Christians do not do. Instead, they sing carols and 'praise the lord' instead of learning what exactly the religion preaches.
